secondary mirror/focuser position

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This is another post Re; first time newt collimation... real sorry!!

But its concerned just with the secondary mirror alignment.

So please can anyone help as I have read so much and looked at

so many pictures my head is spinning, and I’m well into paranoid mode at the moment.

I have had to remove the secondary mirror (don’t ask) and I am ready to refit it again, again

And just want to be sure if this is an issue or not. as the view alters

What position should the focuser be in when using a collimation cap to

set up the position and tilt of the secondary mirror?

Should it be;

1 all the way in

2 all the way out

3 half way in and out

4 it doesn’t matter where the focuser tube is positioned

5 another position not listed above

please can anyone advise

Many thanks
