New starter help with synscan

Hi Everyone

I've just bought a SW 130 with a syn scan controller. I've been out the last couple of nights and some great views of Jupiter and Saturn.

Ive managed to very roughly set the two star alignment up but when I slew to Jupiter it's slightly out. When I go to adjust and slew the telescope nothing happens, I've tried all sorts and have to revert to doing the set up again to get the thing to move. Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong, I know the initial alignment needs to be better, but surely I should be able to correct using the controls or is this the norm for a synscan controller.

Any help would be appreciated for a beginner

What slew rate have you got set ? If its 1x you won't see the scope move at all...

If the slew rate control is the same for all SW controllers...press "2" then "9" it will wizz round...))

when slewing with the synscan the higher the number the faster the scope will slew......I usually find that 4 or 5 is adequate for slewing .
