Skyview Pro Goto alignment troubles

Just Got home from the Rio Grande Valley and got a chance to use some new equipment. I have an Orion Skyview Pro mount With the goto contoller. Set up mount polar aligned (roughly), set date, time zone(-6:00) Texas, time, and position=95deg6min W,30deg1min N(NE Houston). Select Capella for one star alignment. Mount seems to turn the proper amount to go to star but seems to turn in opposite direction. Using a baseball field as an example, if i was aligned to 2nd base and told scope to go to 3rd, it turns to 1st. I must have something backwards but not sure what? Have tried to realign several times all with the same result. Any ideas on what I'm doing incorrectly? Same result with 2 and 3 star alignment.

I had something similar. The telescope was mounted back to front on the mount. I.e with mount pointing North, telescope was pointing South ... How small did I feel ?

Things to check

1. date format (mm/dd/yyyy)

2. time (24hr)

3. coordinates entered correctly (095 06 W, 30 01 N)

4. the mount set to home position before alignment: ie telescope pointing at the North celestial pole and counterweight pointing straight down.
