March 23, 2013: Comet C/2011 L4 Panstarrs again

Recommended Posts

I just walked to the end of the street again with my 15x70 bins, to see if I could spot the comet again. There was a bit of thin cloud in that direction, so I was a bit doubtful of success. I followed the line of Andromeda, and when I got to alpha Andromedae, I moved slowly left. After just a few degrees of motion, there it was. Quite faint through the haze, but it brightened a bit when the clouds moved away. I estimate it to be 8 degrees from the star. Once found, it was easily spotted again and again, even from ky front porch, after walking home.

Three sightings so far, so I cannot complain.
