Just been out trying for a glimpse of Panstarrs, but no joy.

Passed a chap with binos and camera though and just wondered if it happened to be a fellow SGL'er?

What time are we thinking the Comet sets at the moment? Is it much before the moon?

According to Stellarium the comet sets before the moon and it was at 7:22pm this evening. The moon should set about 8:10pm

Thanks for that I updated stellarium but still didn't have the comet info.

You can use Heavens above to get the current position

I wasn't me this time - I was about 5 miles away taking pictures. If the comet got any brighter the windmill would make a fine foreground.
