NGC 2024 - B 33 Flame and Horse Head Neb - Poor Obs Conditions.

Not too bad when I started slight haze , bit of light pollution ( Peterborough lights) but the CLS filter seemed to be handling it OK. After about 40/45 mins haze , high cloud , dew etc decided to give it up. Got 20 X 2mins images.

130mm APO , F4.8 ( 0.8X Focal Reducer ) , Canon 350D at 800 ISO

No flat field on this image so some dust rings etc.

Tracking not as good as normal but had to use all 20 reasonable frames.

Yes, I like it a lot John. It may be suffering from a lack of a bit more time, but nevertheless, It has turned out a quite acceptable image.

No doubt when the conditions are right you will conjure up a mind blower, but this will do for now.

I am pleasantly surprised at how much of the red nebulosity you have captured with an unmodified DSLR and without the nebulosity, there would be no Horsehead to see!
