Telescopic eyepieces.

What's the general thoughts about these are they any good or is it better to get individual eyepieces.

I assume you mean zoom eyepieces. The general consensus seems to be that the better zooms are much better than stock eyepieces but not as good as their individual eyeypece counterparts. They score highly for portability and convenience but at the longer focal lengths lose out to their individual counterparts in field of view. they seem to be a marmite sort of lens some love them some hate them.

I tried an 8-24mm zoom and found it wasn't for me, and I prefer to use individual eyepieces. Mind you we're all different and I think it's great that others like them

It depends on your budget, your scope and your intended target.

Like all eyepiece, the more you spend, the more you get. Zoom eyepiece generally works well with slower scope such as SCT and Mak. They don't work so well with fast Newtonian.

8-24 and 7-21 zoom are good general purpose eyepiece. However, most have very narrow field at the long end, so a separate wide field eyepiece is often needed.
