Bahtinov Mask Template Check

Hi All

I decided to build my own Bahtinov mask and found this website that generates templates for your specifications:

I put my 'basic' dimensions for my Quattro S8 which were the following:

FL - 800mm

Aperture - 205mm

Edge Thickness - 14mm

Which resulted in this?

Have I made an error or does this look okay? I've never seen them with so much 'Empty' space, does it matter that the secondary is going to be blocking the centre section of the mask?

Just want to check before going to the effort of making it and finding out it's wrong

Looks right to me - what are you making it from? You can cut one out from thin black plastic (office folder from Tesco!!) in a few minutes and try it.

Was thinking of building the final one from sheet balsa but thats yet to be decided, think I will do your suggestion first and that will also act as a more substantial template for the balsa version.
