This is a useful pointer for those of us on Mac OSX Mavericks

http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/204742-os-x-mavericks-beware-of-app-nap/

I've downloaded OzDave's EQMac http://eqmac.hulse.id.au/ & obtained the correct USB-serial drivers for Mac OSX http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProduct.aspx?p_id=229&pcid=41 (confirmed by HitecAstro as being the correct ones)

Just waiting for my HitecAstro EQDir adapter & I'll be ready to try it out along with all of the various Mac friendly pieces of Astro-Software I've been accumulating lately.

Here's hoping for a break in the weather!

Cheers,

Graham

Hi

A guy on the iOptron Yahoo group has just released an OSx telescope server for iOptron mounts (only tested with the Cube range but should work with all 8401 handsets and may be others).

This allows Stellerium to control the iOptron mount as well as any other device through an IP port on the Mac (so you can also connect to the mount via Sky Safari on the iPad/iPhone).

The server emulates the LX200 command set which the iOptron one seems to be based on - the subtle differences prevent the LX200 embedded driver in Stellarium from working.

Here's the discussion - you might need to be a member of the group to access the files.

Hope this helps

Paul
