Started this tonight, managed to grab about an hours or so worth of data:

There's a gradient across the image and I'm not sure what's causing it. I've used flats to remove the vignetting but I've still got this gradient.

Maybe I need to flock the scope to reduce stray light?

Ah you've got the colour right now - nice one

Yeah, I played about with the RGB histograms. The red was short and fat while the B&G were tall and skinny, so I stretched out the B&G with levels until they were about the same size.

I also tried again, this time mucking about with saturation (although I think I've taken a bit too much out the background):
