Really bad first Synscan experience

Have you got access to a meter - can you check continuity between one end of the cable and the other? It does sound as if everything bar the display is OK.

Hi Monty, my father in law has a multi meter so could test it around his but to be honest I'm convinced its the lcd, it makes the correct single beep sound, it slews and I can select the slewing speed. I'm thinking of selling it cheaply because it might come in handy for someone who has a broke controller with a working lcd? Its no good to me unless someone wants to sell me an lcd from there broken controller?D
