sparkyjon
Hi there just a quick question i know that equitorial mounts have certain weight limits to perform well/accurately,now what about a standard az mount, i'm looking for a cheap replacement mount was thinking about the az3 now it's for 2 scopes and will probably be left in my car i have a celstron c8 super plus which has a clumsy mount with the worm drive and will be going under repair shortly..now i'm not sure if it would handle the c8 but for my camera and 114mm reflector it should be ok..does anyone know the limits of the az3 or others in it;s bracket.. munro
Not sure about the AZ3 but I just bought an AZ4. The max weight is given as 15 pounds. So obviously less for the AZ.
John
An AZ-3 will handle a C5 fine but not a C8 !I feel even the AZ-4 might not be sturdy enough for the C8. A Skytee II, perhaps or a Giro.
