finding NGC's during first quarter moon

the moon didnt affect the stars at all on the 17th, atmospheric conditions were perfect. and the 12'' dob performed better than prevous observations.

M1 in taurus was peculiar at high power, and its oval halo was in a form i cant describe, at the brink of visiblity, the well known filaments of this object appear and show what the crab was meant to be in photos.

new NGC objects found were:

NGC 1907

NGC 2438

NGC 2423

NGC 2841

NGC 2244

NGC 225

other Messier objects observed. sadly, tonight's total Messier object count remains at 95/110. most recent Messier object found:M 74

M 36 M 38 M 37

M 44 M 42/43 M 46

M 47 M 67 M 45
