the only real thing that works is a good setting circle and a digital

inclinometer..and then make sure the scope is super level.

(making sure your coords and time are set correctly..)

Not quite true Michael. Astro Devices Nexus coupled with Sky Safari works exceptionally well. Saturday night I spent a good part of the evening looking for doubles. It was so accurate I was finding them with my 10mm barlowed (240x). Not in the middle every time with this but close enough for me to find them in seconds without having to change to a wider field eyepiece.
