Polar alignment

Hi can you polar align,drift align a sct with focal reducer in line as i find a star moves to fast with my philips spc 990 to be able to align it first?.

nice skies around there. I have never tried polar aligning with a reducer but there is no reason why not. could you not polar align just using the eyepiece then put the webcam in. Why do you need to polar align for a webcam? (just curious)

Hello rowan46,I usually have my modded canon set up on the scope to whitch I have polar aligned,I thought for a change I would put my webcam in to look at Jupiter but could not align to a star as star would wonder off screen but was ok when I took focal reducer out.
