NGC 891 and M77 through 12 inches

NGC891 was faint through the 2"wide field eyepiece. It looks like a streak. It ha s two stars imposed in each tip throughout farther investigation and more magnification, an awesome dust lane appears to discect the galaxy in half, the galaxy is extremely mottled. Another star is near the nucleus.

M77 is cool. I notice a arcing dark mottled arm curving down, the top arm was more difficult to see. A bright star is to the left of the just as bright core. A star is close to the nucleus that is'nt seen in the photo i looked at before i round it, is it a star cloud ar a nova or was it just a illusion??
