Hey enjoy the scope. I picked up an astromaster 70. I believe they are VERY similar scopes. I have been able to get some great views with it. With a little patience, I bet you will have a great time with it.

Welcome fellow brummie! I too got a new telescope for Christmas (skywatcher skyhawk 1145p)! This place is full off knowledgable friendly people that will help in anyway they can (best to be specific with questions though I have found ).

Enjoy the new scope as much as possible....as it can be tough in our heavily light polluted city!
