Avi capture software?

I have been using a Opticstar cam and the software opticstar view is just awful, no matter the settings there is just awful quality images, also as its not a popular software package help just isnt there, no threads when it comes to it. what are people using / popular avi capture software which has a large following and if I get stuck would allow me to ask fellow people.

I don't know if it would work with your camera but Sharpcap is popular.
