DIY storage box for 6" SCT

While I'm at it, here is another DIY project. This is a storage box for my 6" SCT. The scope sits in the foam inserts that were in the original shipping boxes from 5 year ago.

And here is a DIY dobson mount for my newtonian and a LYBAR chair. Notice the DIY telrad riser and the DIY navigation knob.

The azimuth bearing is a roller bearing from an unused set of Antares rotator rings and the altitude bearings are plumbing caps riding on stick-on floor protector felt. Perfect motion! The stickers are my daughter's contribution. I use an instrument base magnet to counter balance heavier eyepieces. It is sitting on the LYBAR chair

I've only converted a tool bag for my SCT.

Wish I had that amount of space to work in .
