batch processing iso advice please

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, i read recently that it's best to process your iso files seperatley then combine the resulting .tif's to get my final shot, i went through some old M27 data (before i started shooting in RAW sorry).

I had some 30 odd shots shot in iso 800 & 1600 (i know it's not a lot of data but i was just begining imaging) no flats / darks etc, put my best 800's through DSS saved my tif then processed the 1600's in DSS also, i then combined the two .tif's & tweaked in DSS then PS.

I appreciate the stacks are pretty basic but am i going down the correct route ?

I only image in RAW now & i am looking forward to doing some more DSOing this year.

One last thing, my wife bought me a UHC/S filter for xmas, can i expect some better data now even on my un-modded 600D ? if i image M27 again can i use any of my filter set to good effect even though i'm using a colour dslr ?

Sorry if some of the questions sound amaturish just not sure & don't want to waste too much imaging time, the little that we do get.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me & have a great New Year :-)
