Also if you hold the mirror up to a lit lightbulb and you can see pinholes your mirror is on the way out an may need re-coating.

If you look at your mirrors reflective surface using a torch etc. they always look a lot worse than they are, you would be surprised how dirty they can get before they affect your views.
