when centering a spider were do you measure to?

hi trying to make sure my spider vanes are all equal just wondering do i measure to the center were the phillips screw is or to the edge were they connect to the secondary holder

To the center of the screw. It does not really matter whether you did measure to the edge of the secondary holder, as long as you are measuring to the same point. That is why is it probable easier to measure to the center of the screw as you are introducing some level of repeatability.
