Comparison of 16 bit captures with the EV76C661 sensor

These pictures were taken 5 days apart (yesterday's is on the left) and under different seeing conditions but the positioning of the GRS was almost identical. I tried another experiment using the 16 bit option (it doubles the avi file size) to see how well that would process. The jury is still out on that one as last night's seeing here was criminal (see how I linked that ... ok, ok, no more jokes). It's interesting to see how the cloud pattern following the GRS has changed over these last 5 days.

Hi Richard, the second image was taken at a moment of much better seeing ..... or it could be that because the second image was taken 5 days ago, you're feeling nostalgic!

Have you noticed how quickly these pages become yesterday's news - especially at the height of the Jupiter 'season'. Because the weather has been so poor we've been starved of decent opportunities so there's always a flood of images following a clear night. Talking of floods, ther's another band of ultra wet stuff forecast for Friday in our neck of the woods. Grooooh......
