jupiter closest should i filter

.Shot with a microsoft life cam studio. It has no gain controll! Do you guys think if i could put a filter into the mix i could not have to turn the brightness down or mess with exposure as much witch would give me better detail? Is this true or do i need a better camera! 2minute 40s avi put in regi shot at 640 at 30fps. Any help is appreiciated thanks!
