Just a speculation:

Is it possible to guide and image through the same scope by use of a binoviewer?

Would this mean the light reaching the imaging chip is halved?

Anyone tried it?

You could do so but the light would be halved plus some small other losses.

Wouldn't the camera make it difficult to get your eye up to the eyepiece?

I imagine focussing could be tricky as well.

I think you would have a problem with focussing Andrew. I doubt you would get 2 camera's that reached focus at the same point.
