So I have switched cameras and am now using a QHY5 and I get far better results. Next step will be to create an instrument Response to complete the calibration process.

The image spectra capture is looking good, but I think the calibration points might be a bit out. Was the zero order cropped, otherwise its very useful as a calibration point.

I think the line you have as H Alpha, is actually caused by Earth's atmospheric oxygen band at around 7605A. The real H Alpha is the dip below 6000A on your chart?

Thanks for that, I did do the zero order calibration but simply left that bit off the final display ( is there any convention on that). I will calibrate again when I get home and see how it looks. The QHY5 certainly does a better job than the cannon. John B
