Manual five-position filter wheel

FLO

Recommended Posts

We have a new manual five-position filter wheel available for under £100.

At this price it lacks the premium fit, finish and sophistication offered by more prestigious brands like Atik or Starlight Xpress, but the construction is actually rather good with a hefty feel and a wheel that rotates each filter into view with a nice positive 'click'. It also includes a good selection of adapters.

For details and an up-to-date price of this and other filter wheels please see the filter wheel section of our website.

Most people consider a filter wheel to be exclusively for astro-imaging but filter wheels are used by visual observers too. Consider, you could load a number of visual filters into the wheel then simply dial them into the field of view. It beats manually moving a filter from eyepiece to eyepiece when changing magnification (so less chance of it dropping onto the patio!). You could fit a Moon filter (or two with different densitys) alongside a light-pollution-reduction filter, a UHC, fringe-killer, or whatever other visual filters you find most useful
