I much prefer that second one personally :)

I think you've perhaps over-stretched the histogram or over-exposed the original image which has led to some of the craters being blown out, but even so it's very good for a first attempt with a DSLR. It takes a few tries to find an exposure time that works for your scope. I use 1/1000th sec @ ISO200 I think, but that's with a completely different scope. It would be worth experimenting a bit.
