Phd calibration steps

why on calibration dose it take more steps north and south 27 each way but west and east only 16 whitch is about the recommended steps.

It depends which part of the sky you're looking at. When you're imaging an area high up then some directions take longer than others. I suspect if you pointed your scope around the 0-degree declination line you'd find that the N/S and E/W calibration take about the same number of steps

It can also be affected by the balance of your set-up and flexure within the mount/dovetail/rings etc
