Morning All,

I am looking at upgrading my SPC900 to a DBK 41AU02.AS.

Does anyone have a DBK 41AU02.AS and could give me a real life view?

I'm assuming for the price it should be a much better camera than the SPC.

It'll be for lunar and planetary work.

Any advice and maybe images taken with the DBK 41AU02.AS would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Grahame.

The DBK 21 should be big enough for planetary and cheaper - although the 41 should be better for getting more of the moon on the sensor.

I went from an SPC900 to the DFK21. I was pleased with the higher frame rate. its also more sensitive and there is less noise. I'm using an 8" reflector at f5 so its not ideal for planetary stuff.

I wouldn't recommend D*K31 or 41 for planetary as they are slow (at max speed they give circular artifacts so 15 FPS is safe for D*K31 and 7,5 for D*K41). Also color cameras aren't good (as good as mono + filter) for lunar and solar imaging (and DBK41 has a bigger, lunar/solar sized CCD). From TIS cameras DMK21AU618 is good, from Point Grey - Chameleon (more lunar).
