Observing sites around Middlesbrough

Anywhere that puts the Boro to the north would give dark skies to the south so the ones you have said would be good although I was stopped by the police once while viewing from near codbeck as they thought I was up to no good. Another is the car park at the top of birkbrow or near the lion inn on blakey ridge.

Another good one is the observing nights on fridays with the cleveland and darlington astronomical society who meet up at the planetarium site at castle eden walkway near thorpe thewels. If its clear then theres often four or five people there with scopes which makes it really nice observing as a group.
