Leisure battery numpty

Recommended Posts

Cheers guys.

The hair dryer is 12v, I didn't fancy even attempting to remove dew with 240v, risking electrocution or even worse, cracking the corrector plate coz it got too hot, too quickly. Lol.

Thanks again ;-)

Inverters are not all that efficient - much better, as said, to use everything 12v. To guesstimate the capacity of leisure battery needed add up all the Amps you will be drawing eg 2A for the mount, 4A for eg a camera = 6A. Double the answer = 12A. This gives a figure for amps per hour. If you use your kit for, say, 6 hours then you need 12 x 6 = 72 Ah (Amp-Hours) capacity.

The "double it" bit in the calculation is to allow for the fact that you should not really run a battery below 50% capacity or you will start to shorten its life. Don't forget to account for a decent charger/conditioner when you cost out your purchase - these can cost almost as much as the battery but are definately worth every penny as they will keep your battery in exellent condition for years.
