LED Replacement Heq5Pro

Hi All ,can anyonre tell me which replacement led to buy for a Heq5 Pro mount?

Feed is outputting 4.2 v but what value led?

Is this a new HEQ5? I ask because I've read on CN that the new ones are VERY dim.

Hi R, no this is about 4yrs old,i have removed the led from the polarscope and it is not working.

Was just wondering what to buy to replace it?

Any LED the same size should do, don't pic an ultra bright one though. I can have a look on Maplins for you later, have to rush out now...

Maplin code WL32K should do the trick, but I'd also consider dimming it as it may be a bit bright. Astro-Baby's site has a good dimmer modification, alternatively you could put a fixed resistor in series with the LED like I did - I think mine was about 270K. http://www.astro-bab...cope_dimmer.htm
