Moon and Jupiter Rising

Tried my hand at imaging the Perseids on Saturday night. Took lots of pictures but didn't catch any Perseids

Got distracted around 02:00 by the Moon rising in the east and when I saw Jupiter close by I decided to turn the camera on them for a while. The pic below is probably the best of the bunch, taken at the 18mm end of the kit zoom lens of my Canon 1100D at iso 800 / F/7.0 and a 3 second exposure. Camera was mounted on my old cobra eclipse tripod and connected to the remote trigger so as to keep vibration to a minimum.

Had hoped to be able to add Venus later on but the clouds rolled in before Venus was high enough for me to catch.
