Almost there

Recommended Posts

After a seemingly never ending search for a quick and easy to use setup I think I am almost there , what do you think ?

Celestron C9.25-SGT XLT Go To

SkyTee-2 Mount only

ADM Vixen Style Saddle.

It is purely for visual so I will use the CG5 Tripod with the SkyTee-2 for extra stability (2" diameter legs) as it is a larger scope and the ADM saddle as I have read it is needed to improve the SkyyTee-2 and I will keep the CG5 mount handy for you never know when.

It makes sense getting the C9.25-SGT XLT package as it works out a bit more this way ( about £150 ) but as I want a sturdier tripod I get the CG5 mount as well for a bit more.

Any suggestions or alterations much appreciated

Vlebo

Sounds like a good set up.

I'm very impressed with the build quality of ADM saddle for CG5, I have not seen the Skytee version, but I think it will be very nice too.

Go for it.

You may want to get a good 2" visual back for your SCT, I highly recommend the Baader 2" SCT clicklock visual back.

The only thing I am not 100% is the ota , I may go for the 190 mn instead of the C9.25 asd I have read it offers great apo like views but I am losing out a little on aperture. It is taking me forever to make my mind up.

Give the skytee2 sadles a go before rushing to buy the ADM versions. I found the ones on mine have been fine (touch wood) and believe SW made some alterations to the original sadles that were causing all the problems.

If they are ok, thats another £120 you can put towards the OTA (if you are replacing both)

Thanks for the heads up , I will try it out first.
