lancerde
Wonderfully clear night here in north Germany tonight. The milky way was beautiful. I have not seen it this clearly for a long time. I went out side just now with the binos and found the Andromeda galaxy for the first time. Just goes to show you don't need lots of expensive kit to enjoy the night sky. Breath taking views with a pair of cheap binos. I'm going to take the camera out on the tripod tomorrow and have a go at some simple images of the milky way. Very faint though cos we have a fair bit of lp and the seeing ain't too hot right now.
Matt Scunthorpe
Nice. I found M31 for the first time the other night also. I was at the local club meeting and the skies were still light, so hopefully if i see it when its darker it will be even better. Its just blocked from view in my garden. And at the dark site i go to, it hangs right over the Steel works LP
