SkyHawk 1145 Synscan AZ GoTo

Recommended Posts

better eyepieces would be a good improvement over the standard ones

Yes - although I guess for a starter the EP's do the job but it'd probably be the first thing to change

You got one then Jules?

Hello Paul i'am thinking of getting this az goto mount for my 1145p. Is this mount good for this telescope? Is it a bit shacky or not? :)

Not sure as I don't actually have one - I was originally asking if anyone did have one but seems no one on SGL has this particular model.

What I would say is that as long as you don't fully extend the legs then that will help with stability. The Synscan AZ GoTo mount available from FLO:

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/skywatcher-az-goto-mount.html

can take up to a 5 inch (127mm) Mak or Newtonian or a 4 inch short tube refractor so you should be OK attaching your OTA to it.

Hope that helps.

I have the 1145p on a synscan az goto

The scope and mount are great

Beautiful optics and sturdy tripod

I bought new eyepieces, Barlow and red dot finder which make it more better! Also purchased a power tank as batteries run out quickly and u would recommend buying one!

The original eyepieces were binned when I purchased the new ones!

Also have a laser collimator which keeps the mirrors perfectly aligned!

I have had some spectacular views with this scope as I can be at 1500ft in a truly dark sight within 15 mins drive!

The goto makes life so easy

Point and go

Take a tour

Find an object

I can't fault this scope

Only down side to astronomy is ££££

I would love celestron edge HD scope but don't have 12k

Hope this has helped

Many thanks

Jason
