  1. Looking good up here in central Scotland for tonight! Been a few weeks since I've been out with the goto dob as its been manic at work! But I'm off tonight and all day tomorrow! Will be travelling to my dark site tonight with a few friends who have never looked through a telescope! Surely a 10" dob should give them the wow What should we look at tonight??? Clear skies
  2. Picked up novembers issue of S@N mag today. My personal tried and tested review of my old scope (Skyhawk 114p AZ GOTO) has featured in the reviews section along with my photo! Not every day you get featured in a glossy mag. Happy days!!! Thanks for reading Clear skies
  3. My non astro friend called to say he'd seen it! Pity I was lying in bed looking through this forum! Absolutely raging I missed it! Told the wife about it.... Her reply was ok! :-(
  4. The first time i seen it was when I was travelling in Australia. Was camping along Great Ocean road in Victoria! I was speechless also! See it a few more times at a dark site in Scotland But not as clear as Aus! Who needs a telescope for milky way watching???

I've managed a few times with my 1145p goto and 32mm eyepiece! I used to get confused when tracking it when using the ⬆⬇⬅➡ buttons of the handset! Turning the handset upside down and using it that way works better if that makes any sense? Nice to look at but it is bright and fast!
  6. My first ever scope was a skywatcher 1145p Synscan az goto Since then I have sold it a bought a skyliner 250px flex tube goto dob! The difference is night and day in terms of viewing! Very happy
  7. Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated! I will prob sell and buy something else! I have a 250px goto dob so the finder would only be for alignment! Would a cheapish red dot be the way to go?
  8. I have a 9x50 finder scope which is straight through! Can I buy an adaptor to make it a right angled finder! Been looking but can't find what I'm looking for! Many thanks
  9. I have recently purchased a skyliner 250px dob goto! My previous scope was a 1145p I still have the 2 original eyepieces( 10mm and 25mm) which was supplied with my old scope, plus a 32mm plossl and a 6mm plossl, both are skywatcher and 1.25"! I'm looking for new eypieces to complement my 250px and would like some advice before diving in to my pockets! I have a 2" adaptor so should I go down this road? Interested in everything in the night sky... Nebulae, galaxys, star clusters etc! Your advice/help would be much appreciated Thanks for reading Clear skies
  10. Scope has arrived. Set it up when I got in from work, didn't take long! Was well packaged up with bolts/ screws etc in little bags! The whole thing is in pristine condition! Not a mark or dent anywhere! Done a quick collimation and was only out a fraction! Then teased the cat with the laser for a while lol All in all it's a beauty and can't wait to get some light time with it! Decided then to tease the cat with
  11. I find telescope help is good for lat long snd also star chart Check them out
  12. Hey guys Just to let you know I am the new owner of the 250px goto that was on gumtree! £500 was a bargain for it The guy selling it was great to deal with! He lives just outside London and I live in central Scotland! I have arranged a courier to pick it up tommorow(Tuesday) and deliver it to me Wednesday! We used face time through our i phones and he showed me the whole scope! Mirrors are immaculate and he also powered it up to show me slewing up down left right! He is selling as he want a new Meade lx??? Don't know what model?? I have been looking everywhere for one of these and brand new they're close to the 1k mark! Getting it for £500+ £35 for delivery is a steal! Will let you know exact condition when it gets here! Thanks for reading Jason
  13. Was driving home from work there and i could see something bright streaking across! Knew straight away it was the ISS seen it a few times before but this one has been the best
  14. I have the 1145p on a synscan az goto The scope and mount are great Beautiful optics and sturdy tripod I bought new eyepieces, Barlow and red dot finder which make it more better! Also purchased a power tank as batteries run out quickly and u would recommend buying one! The original eyepieces were binned when I purchased the new ones! Also have a laser collimator which keeps the mirrors perfectly aligned! I have had some spectacular views with this scope as I can be at 1500ft in a truly dark sight within 15 mins drive! The goto makes life so easy Point and go Take a tour Find an object I can't fault this scope Only down side to astronomy is ££££ I would love celestron edge HD scope but don't have 12k Hope this has helped Many thanks Jason
