Just an IR block - keeps muck off the sensor and gives sharper focus.

Anything from 3.75fps up to 60fps.

Mostly I have been using 15 to 30 fps - no compression on any frame rates.

Going to try some LRGB soon as this is what I shall be using on Mars.

Excellent Moon images John - the DMK looks to be a good camera.

I considered getting one but my laptop's Firewire port is not powered so I'd need an adaptor.

Just bought a re-chipped Toucam that uses the USB port for power. It has the same Sony B&W chip as the DMK. It also takes uncompressed AVI's but at 15 FPS and not 60 FPS !

For Mars I'm getting the colour from a standard colour Toucam and using the B&W for luminance (since it's 3x as sensitive as the standard chip).We'll see if theory works out in practice !
