SPC900 webcam nosepiece?

Can anyone recomend a good place to get a good quality one of these please?

there are plenty out there but im confused as to what to look for.

Ok so a choice - is there any advantage to getting a metal one over a plastic one (these links point to both) and is the filter they recommend also a good bet?

I have plastic nosepieces rather than metal ones and haven't had any problems with them. I think I just bought the GSO IR filter. ISTR reading somewhere that webcam sensors don't tend to be particularly sensitive to UV whilst they are to IR. It's also a useful way to keep dust off the sensor which would otherwise be open to the elements.

I now have a nosepiece - thanks for your help - i have put a filter on it to protect the ccd but its an expensive UV filter - do you know where i can buy a dust cap that will protect the filter? screw in preferably.

I just put a standard 1.25" eyepiece cap over mine.

As far as I know you need the IR blocking filter to prevent fuzzy focus issues where the whole spectrum isn't brought to focus at the same point resulting in a bloated effect.

hi steve - yes its the badaar UV/IR filter so should be ok.
