My Dob levelling base

Rather chuffed with my dob levelling base so thought I'd share it with you , I got 3 feet from here http://www.stationro...k/cart_feet.htm , they come with a tee nut that just hammers into wood and they have a slot in the top so the feet can be turned by a scredriver , so the feet can go under the leveller but can be adjusted from above and so do not have to be ankle bashers.post-20996-0-10917600-1340984180_thumb.j

I put the dob mount on the 3/4" ply and drew around it , I then marked where the feet were. I cut out the circle and drilled pilot holes in the middle of the feet markings.I got 3 x 4" lengths of 3x2 and pinned and glued these over the pilot holes.post-20996-0-79721600-1340984217_thumb.j

Then drilled the 11mm hole needed for the tee nuts where the pilot holes were , I drilled from the plywood thru the 3x2 so the plywood wouldn't splinter , and knew where to drill cos of the pilot holes. Hammered the tee nuts into position and painted with 2 coats of undercoat for protection , didn't use gloss as I thought this might make it slippy. The feet screw into the tee nuts and give me over 40mm to play with .post-20996-0-02004200-1340984250_thumb.j

This pic shows how much head of the screw protrudes thru the wood when the foot is all the way up.post-20996-0-32545300-1340984234_thumb.j

I now have to drill the holes out a bit at the top so I can adjust the feet a little easier as the original holes weren't as straight as I'd have liked . I will also mark where the holes are and and the feet of the dob so that the feet don't stand on the holes.
