Please post your M27 :rolleyes: If we all waited for or expected results like Olly's we'd be the poorer :cool:

Dead right, and please don't forget that my images five years ago were the subject of kindness and advice on here, and thanks to that I was able to learn. Like all the imagers on here I'm always happy to swap ideas.

Good question and I'd love to talk to an astrophysicist about this. Surely the shape of the Dumbbell is created by equatorial versus polar events. SImply put, there are the two red sides and the two blue sides and one pair must be polar and the other equatorial. And there I bow out!!

The intense jet-like structures are certainly not processing artefacts. They leap out at you from the raw data.

fabulous image Olly. are the red 'marks' at about 25 past and 5 to the 'hour' jets of something or other?
