Sky-watcher 200 DOB upgrade

Hi all i have a 200 auto tracking dob and i was wondering if it could be upgraded to a goto that could be controlled by say

stellarium on my laptop,if so what do i need to purchase,thanks

You can buy a goto handset which will also let you plug it into your pc through that handset or you can buy something like this

Hi Pat yep there's one on the Astro buy and sell site so ill have to register with them to use the site

Make sure it's the "Sysnscan AZ Goto" handset - don't get the EQ one by mistake. Also it needs to be version 3 or above, below V3.0 it won't be compatible. I have done this upgrade with my 300P auto and it works fine. I haven't hooked it up to the computer other than to flash the latest firmware, but I'm sure it must be controllable from Stellarium in alt/az mode with the right interface software.

I've not seen this mentioned much cos most people use computer control for EQ mounts and imaging. So a bit of research will be required - have look into ASCOM drivers
