Quick look with the bins

Yesterday evening it was quite clear, so I stayed up till 12:00 and went out with the Helios 15x70 bins. It was still not really dark, but I had a quick look around to see whether I should get out the scope. I turned the bins to Hercules, as it was nearly at Zenith, and had a quick look at M13. It showed up nicely against the grey background. M92 was up there as well, just a bit smaller and fainter. Unfortunately, some thin wispy cloud came in, so my session was cut short. Still nice to get even a brief view after such a long wait.

I still haven't got myself a pair of bins yet but every time I see a binocular observing thread it reminds me just how much I'd like a set.
