Mount for solar imaging?

Hi all. I'm in the process of buying a H alpha scope with the intention of doing some imaging of the sun.

I know very little about imaging so please be gentle!

Do I need a driven eq mount for this? I have a motorised (not goto) CG-5 and the goto alt-az mount from a C8SE. Would one of these be suitable, which one would be best? Or would somthing like a skytee 2 be more suitable?

I have no wish to image at night so that is not a factor.

Thanks

Tom

Assuming you will be using a webcam (or similar) to get your images then a motorised CG5 should be good enough for your requirements. It is basically the same as an EQ5, which is what I use to hold a 120mm refractor for Solar imaging with no problems.

Roger, the combined wisdom would seem to point towards a DMK 41 as being the weapon of choice for the job so unless better suggestions are forthcoming I will be looking to use one of those. Cheers.
