Celestron C90 Mak, any good?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Just wondered if these are any good for a lunar/planetary/travel scope?

If they are, any ideas of a suitable tripod?

Im doing a lot of traveling this year due to my job and would like to take something smaller than my Tal along with me.

Do you know if a standard 45 degree star diagonal would fit?

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

the c90 is a great little lunar scope it will show jupiter, saturn, mars and venus but you will not get great definition on them. jupiter will show a couple of bands and 4 moons. saturn not much definition you should see the rings but not cassini. phases of venus. mars as a disc it will show a couple of optical doubles and some of the brighter messiers. As to whether a standard astro 45 degree fits I couldn't say my mate was using the supplied erecting diagonal it takes 11/4 inch eyepiedes.
