Hi a stupid question but what would use this filter for and would you be able the view the sun with this. I already view the sun with a solar filter but would this make any difference. Would you have to use the with your solar filter still

No difference at all I'm afraid, and certainly don't try it!

The Ha filter is designed for DSO objects, not solar. If you want to see prominences and granularity, you need a proper solar scope.
