Fujinon 16x70 on ABS

If anyone is interested I just noticed a seriously wicked Fujinon FMT-SX 16x70 Polaris binocular on ABS if anyone is interested.

£830 worth of bino going for £450...

Actually, they're mine. This isn't the right place for selling so I won't go into detail. All I will say is that it's taken me months to build up the discipline to advertise them. No takers so far, so I will probably reduce the price .... or just keep them, which will be no hardship.

Hmm.... A quick google shows the current USD price around 650-730 dollars which at todays conversion rates equals around £420-£470. Even at UK pound equals dollar prices that's still way below the £830 quoted above?

Adorama do indeed sell the Fuji 16x70's for $650, however by the time you've added UK VAT and shipping costs, the price will come to around $850 which converts to £550. The cheapest UK retail price I've seen recently is £830 however if anyone can find them cheaper over here, I'll correct that statement on UKABS.

One expects a relative disparity in pricing between U.S. and European markets, but why it's so huge in this case beats me.
