eq3-2 mount

hi just received a new skywatcher eq3-2 pro synscan and is not working on dec motor,ra motor works ok from arrows on keypad and operates on the goto command from hand set, anybody else had this problem. davy

Silly question first Is the clutch fully tightened on your DEC axis?

yes clutch tight on both axis...

What happens when you just try to move the axis via the handset. Any noise from the mount? Change in pitch?

ra slews when pressing arrow keys on key pad and if i say selected mars it would slew on ra....no noise or movement from dec motor...synscan handbook says it should work via arrows unless scope slewing at time of commands

Bar checking the connectors (make sure they are all pluggin well or give them a quick blast with an air blower) it sounds unpromising ... I don't have another idea at this point bar firing an email off to the retailer.

These things have come on slow ships from China, it's not unheard of unfortunately for one to get damaged in transit
