New WO R&P focuser

I'm on the verge of buying a WO FLT98 scope with their new R&P focuser - seems like they're no longer shipping the DDG ones anymore. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this new focuser?

I would imagine the R&P focuser would be much better.

The "power linear" focuser on my Megrez 90 is a dead loss.

Can't even rack a 1.25" diagonal and EP .

It has already been "repaired" by WO, and is now on its

way back from its second repair.

That's why I have bought the Kson.

Great optics and a focuser that actually works!

Tes, I heard the DDG focusers were a dead loss. Ian King speaks highly of the R&P ones but I think his comments were based on a pre-production model several months back. I was just wondering if anyone has actually seen one in the flesh yet

Bought it second hand.

The person I got it from had imported it from Australia.

If I were you I'd just ask Ian King if he's now seen any production examples. He is absolutely straight. Sky at Night liked the one on the ZS70.

Interesting that William Optics manage to stay in business despite selling thousands of scopes with utterly useless focusers. The two 110s I saw recently were simply abominable.
